Porcelain Veneers

Knebworth Dental Surgery offers Veneers, an almost identical natural material to the enamel in your teeth, allowing us to create visually stunning, beautiful and realistic results in a single visit. Depending on patient requirements, the material may be Porcelain, Ceramic, E-max or Zirconia.

What are Veneers?

Porcelain or Ceramic Veneers are a thin, semi-translucent laminate permanently bonded to your teeth. While they’re not suitable for everyone, veneers are the most aesthetic alternative for a variety of dental conditions involving the front teeth, including:

    •    Spaces between teeth

    •    Unsightly, stained or washed out fillings

    •    Broken or chipped teeth

    •    Crooked teeth

    •    Permanently stained or discoloured teeth that can’t be bleached

How is a porcelain veneer made?

At the first appointment the teeth are prepared for the veneers and an impression is taken. This impression is then sent to a lab where each porcelain veneer is custom made to the dentist’s specifications and beautiful temporaries are fabricated to simulate your new smile: expect to leave the first appointment looking better than when you came in. At the second appointment the veneers are permanently adhered to the natural teeth.

What to expect

At Knebworth Dental Surgery, expect our friendly team to take care of you. All you have to do is take good care of your Veneers, and can last on average for 10 years! Once veneers are applied, treat them like you would your own teeth. They are more durable than simple composite and more resistant to stains and chipping. If you continue with your regular oral hygiene and visit us for routine cleanings, your new veneers will look as good as new.
